Chris Lutzke was 18 years old when he met his mentor-to-be Pete Dye while building Black Wolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin. From the jump, Pete Dye took an interest in Lutzke’s ability and imagination when it came to creating golf holes in a way that gives form to seemingly formless terrain. With two degrees from Michigan State University in turf science and landscape architecture, Chris remains among the nation’s most talented course architects.
Chris has traveled the world designing some of the most beloved golf courses in the game, including The Baths at Blackwolf Run, French Lick Resort, Eagle Eye, and collaborated with Pete Dye for 30+ years on many marquee projects prior to Pete passing in 2020.
Chris Lutzke works hard from dawn to dusk, and his career is solid proof of that work ethic.
